Learn more about therapy with me!
I know how hard it is to find a therapist that feels like the right fit. I’m here to collaborate with you on prioritizing your wellness, and getting out of therapy what you need to heal.
I work well with people brand-new to therapy and are just trying it out, as well as old pros who are looking for something a bit different. I am empathetic and care deeply about the people that I work alongside. We can talk about tough things, embarrassing things, or things you’ve been avoiding thinking about.
I specialize in working alongside people who are striving to heal from early childhood wounds, and want to deepen their understanding of themselves and offer their inner child some loving kindness. I also specialize in OCD, and help people break free from rumination and compulsive cycles through Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
As your therapist, I offer a safe, judgment-free space for you to bring your pain and your worries. We’ll work together to find out what you need, and collaborate to stay on-task and focused on your goals. I have immense hope for you, and I’m grateful to be on this journey with you.
About Dr. Keeya Prairie, PsyD
Dr. Keeya Prairie is a licensed clinical psychologist in Oregon and New York. She obtained her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. Her predoctoral internship at Southern Utah University’s Counseling and Psychological Services emphasized support for queer, rural, and religious intersections.
Prior to that, she gained diverse experiences at a community mental health center, college counseling center, and private practices. Dr. Prairie has two main areas of clinical focus: early childhood wounds and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), which often overlap.
Dr. Prairie guides exploration of the inner child and various parts of the self, pulling from the Inner Family Systems (IFS) model, to address childhood conflicts that often manifest as relationship challenges, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, or mental health symptoms like depression, anxiety, or PTSD.
Dr. Prairie also finds parts work helpful for OCD, to help distinguish between OCD thoughts and the thoughts of the true Self. Additionally, she uses traditional Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) techniques to address compulsive symptoms and stop the endless thought cycle of OCD. She works with all types of OCD, including sexual orientation, pedophilic, and harm subtypes.
Dr. Prairie identifies as a queer therapist, and actively creates safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ and gender nonconforming individuals.
In her free time, Keeya spends much of her time outdoors. She hikes, camps, backpacks, and crafts by the fire. She especially loves adventuring and cuddling with her dog, Buffalo.
