Learn more about therapy with me!
Therapy with me will help you understand yourself better, understand others better, and find inner peace. I use a warm and empathetic approach to support you and teach you the techniques that you’ll need to reach your goals.
You weren’t meant to do this alone. Sometimes, strength is in allowing yourself to be vulnerable and accept support. Maybe you’ve tried to open up before and got hurt. Maybe it’s time to take another chance.
I offer a non-judgmental space and work at your pace so that you can feel at ease. Every person is different. To me, you’re not just another client.
Therapy sessions with me are tailored to your specific needs. I offer you personalized guidance and techniques to improve your life and find lasting relief.
Specific populations that I tend to work with include people who grew up too fast, Asian Americans, adult adoptees, survivors of narcissistic abuse, and perfectionists/high achievers.
Common themes include attachment, relationship issues, communication, emotions, depression, anxiety, cultural conflicts, self-esteem, stress, and inner child healing.
You deserve to feel better. As your therapist, you can come as you are. I’ll meet you with compassion, humor, the occasional meme, and expertise.
If you’re looking for a therapist with lived experience that genuinely cares about your well-being, let’s chat!
About Taylor Yong, LISW
Taylor Yong, LISW, is licensed as an independent social worker in OH, a LICSW in Alabama and Maine, a LCSWC in Maryland and registered as an out-of-state telehealth provider for FL and VT.
She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The College of Wooster and her Master’s degree in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University.
Taylor has experience in residential, outpatient/community, home-based, telehealth, and private practice settings. Although she has experience working with a wide range of problems and situations, she particularly enjoys working with adults looking to address complex trauma/unresolved childhood wounds, insecure attachment, interpersonal relationship issues, cultural conflicts, emotional intelligence, communication, and identity/sense of belonging concerns.
Taylor also works with specific populations of adult adoptees, Asian Americans, perfectionists/high achievers, survivors of narcissistic abuse, and men moving away from toxic masculinity. Taylor’s clients tend to appreciate the lived experience she has in different areas that she treats.
Taylor typically utilizes Psychodynamic Therapy while incorporating aspects of CBT, ACT, Interpersonal, Feminist, Attachment-based, and Culturally Sensitive approaches. She encourages clients to decide the focus at the start of each session to meet them where they’re at and develop a collaborative therapeutic relationship.
She uses a holistic perspective to take the clients’ whole lives (past, present, and future) into account in order to best address treatment goals.
Taylor currently lives in the Northeast Ohio area with her husband and two cats (Coco and Essie). She’d love to get a Samoyed or Bernese Mountain Dog one day. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, watching Survivor, shopping, baking, gardening, and interacting with her latest hyperfixation. She used to watch 90 Day Fiance, but needs to get caught up with the latest seasons. Taylor’s favorite conspiracy theory is that birds aren’t real. Her loved ones have described her as feisty, compassionate, witty, and dedicated.
